broader perspectives // the end product of reflux

We're all on Earth to fulfil God's greater plan and that we're not actually left with a choice whether or not we should follow it. What if beyond the fact that we could not choose who we're born to, where we're born in, what socio-economic background we have had, there was indeed a choice as to whether we were born on Earth or somewhere else, which perhaps could better justify our existence? Would that leave, say, a better or more significant legacy, if it could actually be measured?

Suppose 1+1 = 2 (as we all know), but the equation of life is actually 1+0 = 0, and that we are the ‘1’ in the equation. Where does that place us? Does it indicate that despite the trials and tribulations that life throws at us, we eventually end up living for nothing more than ourselves, or do we live for others? Are these even mutually exclusive in the first place? The thought that our lives actually resonated for absolutely null and that it disappeared on the surface of the Earth almost as transient and fleeting as it had appeared. On retrospect, doesn’t life’s challenges consist of the recurrent relation that swings from improvisation and repetition of one’s mistakes indefinitely? If so, where is the true benchmark and yardstick for what one deems as success?

And do we really think we know one another? Looking at something from a whole new perspective, a new paradigm does indeed provide us a ‘soothing and refreshing’ take on what actually matters of relationships. Why should there be the collision between two distant people when in actual fact, mutual reciprocity finds it ever so difficult to gain a foothold in relationships? How then can relationships be built on a solid foundation that will not be shaken, especially among people you truly care about, thereby imploring one to question the rationale behind relationships in the first place and the heartbreaks that often accompany them in the not too distant future, when suddenly, by a twist of fate, people didn’t seem to matter to one another anymore.
